Cortex: free brain-training games for focus, memory, and speed
Cortex is a set of nine quick mind games that stretch working memory, attention, and processing speed. Each game is short and gets harder as your child gets better, so it stays challenging for a curious 8-year-old and a teenager alike. It's free, with no ads and no tracking of your kids.

What kids learn
- Working memory through digit span (forward and reverse) and N-back sequences
- Selective attention and impulse control with a Stroop color-word challenge
- Mental flexibility and task-switching with rules that flip mid-game
- Processing speed and sustained focus in fast match rounds
- Visual-spatial reasoning through mental rotation and odd-one-out
- Quick word skills by unscrambling common letters into real words
How it works
Kids pick a game from a hub of cards and play a short, timed round. The difficulty adapts within the round — longer spans, higher N, more colors, subtler differences — as answers stay correct. Each game tracks a best score and awards up to 3 stars.
A grown-up signs in once and adds a player for each kid, so Cortex's stars and progress save to your account and follow you to any device.
