Kinetix makes classical physics something kids can play with. Across 15 mini-simulations they explore forces and motion, gravity, friction, energy, momentum, and simple machines by predicting what will happen and then watching it unfold. What kids learn
- How balanced and unbalanced forces set whether and how fast things move
- That in a vacuum all masses fall together, and that density decides floating or sinking
- Key relationships as intuition: springs, pressure, levers, and work
- How energy transforms but is conserved, and how friction bleeds it away
- Momentum in collisions, and elastic versus inelastic crashes
- Projectile and orbital motion: how angle and speed set range and orbit
How it works
Most levels use a predict-then-watch flow: kids tap a prediction, then the simulation animates the real outcome with a teaching feedback bar. Four levels are true sandboxes with sliders — launch angle and power, orbit speed, a tilting lever, and a machine to tune. Scoring is 1 to 3 stars based on how many predictions are right.
Kids can play without signing in; guest stars stay until you reload or close the page. A grown-up signs in once and adds a player for each kid, so Kinetix's stars and progress save to your account and follow you to any device.
